Starlink Test In Italy Worries Iran's Internet Censors

Original: Why A Starlink Test In Italy Has Iran’s Internet Censors Worried

A Starlink test in Italy has drawn attention from Iran's internet censors, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Satellite internet services like Starlink are difficult for governments to block, and Iranian authorities have long restricted Iranians' access to uncensored online content. A working satellite internet option in a comparable market raises the prospect that Iranians could circumvent state controls.

Why now: Iranian authorities fear satellite internet like Starlink could let users bypass the country's censorship system.
