Original: Syria increases criticism of Israeli actions, continues diplomatic outreach
Syria has intensified its public criticism of Israeli actions while at the same time keeping up diplomatic engagement, according to reporting from The Long War Journal. The combination of sharper rhetoric against Israel and continued outreach signals Damascus is trying to balance confrontation with negotiation. Observers are watching whether the dual track eases or heightens tensions between the two countries.
Why now: Syria's simultaneous escalation of rhetoric against Israel and pursuit of diplomacy raises questions about the direction of their conflict.
