Orkut founder seeks support for social network's return

Original: Orkut founder Orkut Büyükkökten is asking people to add their names in support of the social network’s return and invite

Orkut Büyükkökten, who created the once-hugely popular social network Orkut in 2004, is asking people to add their names in support of bringing the platform back and to invite others to do the same. Google shut Orkut down in 2014, when it had around 300 million users. The appeal does not confirm that a new version is actually in development or that it will launch.

Why now: Nostalgia for Orkut plus the founder's public petition is drawing attention and signatures.
