A general strike has been called for November 11, with organizers saying that in the coming days they will dedicate themselves to organizing it so they can bring everything to a halt. The announcement comes as the Tenants' Union leaves its encampment in Barcelona's Plaça de Catalunya to focus its efforts on mobilizing for the strike.

Why now: The announcement of a coordinated general strike and the end of a high-profile protest encampment is drawing attention to escalating labor and housing activism.
