Commentator Anthony Cumia dismissed the argument that migrants "just want to come to a better, safer country to make a better life for themselves and their families," calling it a lie. He also described an accompanying clip as "genuinely horrific," suggesting it showed disturbing conduct by migrants. The remark drew significant engagement and is fuelling heated debate over immigration.
Why now: Ongoing political controversy over immigration and migrant rhetoric keeps such remarks prominent.
