Tesla renames Full Self-Driving to Assisted Driving in Europe
Original: Tesla Rebrands Full Self-Driving as Tesla Assisted Driving in Europe
Tesla has rebranded its Full Self-Driving package as Tesla Assisted Driving in Europe, a name change that drops the 'self-driving' label in the region. The move aligns the branding with European rules that treat the system as driver assistance rather than autonomy, and is drawing attention to how Tesla markets its driver-assistance technology across different markets.
Why now: The renaming highlights the gap between Tesla's autonomy marketing and European regulatory standards for driver-assistance systems.
