Red-red-green coalition talks advance in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Original: mecklenburg-vorpommern

In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the SPD, Left and Greens are moving ahead with plans to form Germany's first red-red-green state coalition. The taz frames the deal with the headline 'Schwerin ist nicht Berlin', suggesting the state-level alliance will differ from federal coalition dynamics. Observers are watching whether the three parties can hold together in government at state level.

Why now: A first-of-its-kind three-way left coalition at state level is being formed, drawing national political attention.
