Iran accuses France of nuclear double standards
Original: Iran questions France’s nuclear double standards
Iran has questioned France's approach to nuclear policy, accusing it of applying double standards. According to Tehran Times reporting, Iranian officials argue that France, a nuclear-armed state, holds other countries to stricter non-proliferation demands than it applies to itself. The criticism adds to ongoing tensions between Tehran and Western governments over Iran's own nuclear programme and international sanctions.
Why now: Ongoing diplomatic tensions over Iran's nuclear programme and Western policies keep accusations of double standards in circulation.
