Developer rebuilds Mozilla Orbit as fully local privacy tool
Original: Show HN: Apogee: Rebuilding Mozilla's Orbit, fully local and private
A developer has launched Apogee, an open-source project rebuilding Mozilla's discontinued Orbit tool to run fully locally with privacy in mind. The project, hosted on GitHub, is drawing attention on Hacker News, where users are discussing the revival of a retired Mozilla product and the appeal of keeping such tools entirely local rather than cloud-based.
Why now: Mozilla discontinued Orbit, and its revival as a private, local-first open-source tool appeals to developer and privacy communities.
