Frances Haugen, the former Facebook employee whose 2021 disclosures exposed internal research on the platform's harms, says she hopes the upcoming film The Social Reckoning will encourage more insiders to come forward as whistleblowers. Haugen has remained a prominent voice on tech accountability since testifying before Congress, and the film is renewing attention on her revelations about Facebook.
Why now: A new film dramatizing the Facebook scandal has put Haugen and her whistleblowing back in the spotlight.
