NetBSD Commissioning Human Concept Artists

The NetBSD project is hiring artists for paid concept art and potential future merchandise work. In a public call, the open-source operating system team said it has a budget for commissions and invited artists with open commission slots to get in touch. The project added it will not accept contributions made with generative AI. Artists and open-source community members are sharing the call.
Why now: An open-source project publicly offering paid art commissions while banning generative AI work resonates with ongoing debates about AI and creative labor.
