Why astronauts struggle to poop in space
Original: Finally, journalism that asks the real questions: Why can't astronauts poop? https://www. sciencedaily.com/releases/2026
A new ScienceDaily report examines why bowel movements are surprisingly difficult in space, where microgravity prevents waste from moving through the digestive system the way it does on Earth. Commenters are sharing the story with amusement, praising it as the kind of practical human question space reporting usually ignores.
Why now: People are sharing the story because it highlights a rarely discussed, inherently funny but genuinely difficult problem of human spaceflight.
