Honor Magic V5 camera picks up infrared light, sparking photography interest
Original: Just realised my # honor # magicV5 phone camera can see IR LEDs. Anyone know of any # android # camera apps I could use
An Honor Magic V5 owner has discovered the phone's camera can see infrared LEDs, and is now looking for Android camera apps to experiment with infrared photography, particularly to see how different plants appear in IR. Many smartphone cameras can detect near-infrared without filters, making this a common entry point for hobbyist IR imaging.
Why now: Phone cameras detecting infrared is a surprising and fun discovery that invites experimentation with infrared photography.
