Louvre urged to join the fediverse
Original: Est-ce que le # musee du # Louvre peut au moins ponter sur le réseau social libre et sans algo du # fediverse pour parta
A French social media user is calling on the Louvre museum to establish a presence on the fediverse, the decentralised, algorithm-free social network, to share its exhibitions and cultural content. The appeal argues people should be able to access culture without having to use platforms owned by billionaires. The post links to a Louvre exhibitions page and has drawn modest engagement.
Why now: Growing public debate about relying on billionaire-owned social platforms for public cultural institutions' outreach.
