Original: “Our Problem in the Middle East is Not Israel” — Luai Ahmed Delivers Rare Moment of Truth at the UN
Yemeni activist and writer Luai Ahmed addressed the United Nations, declaring that the core problems of the Middle East are not Israel. He argued that regional failures stem from governance, extremism and corruption rather than the Jewish state, in a speech promoted by UN Watch as a rare dissenting voice at the body. The remarks drew wide attention online, with supporters praising his candor and critics challenging his framing.
