NBA rejects claim second apron hurts its middle class
Original: NBA pushes back on idea second apron hurts NBA's middle class, but bigger issue lingers
The NBA is pushing back against arguments that its second salary-cap apron is damaging the league's so-called middle class of mid-level players and teams. League officials dispute the idea that the restrictive cap rule is hollowing out rosters, but a bigger underlying issue about competitive balance and spending constraints still lingers, according to Yahoo Sports.
Why now: Ongoing debate over the second apron's impact on team-building and player salaries keeps the topic in the news.
