Wetlands Methane Feedback Added to New Climate Model
Original: Wetlands Turn Up the Heat: New Climate Model Adds Natural Methane Feedback https:// bioengineer.org/wetlands-turn- up-th
A newly published climate model now incorporates a natural methane feedback from wetlands, where warming boosts microbial methane emissions that in turn drive further warming. Researchers say the feedback could accelerate climate change beyond what earlier models projected, raising concerns about tipping points. Commenters on science and climate forums are highlighting the study as fresh evidence of climate instability.
Why now: New research quantifying a natural methane feedback loop is alarming climate observers amid ongoing record warming.
