Weekend heat wave gives way to rain next week
Original: Running a Fall fever: Weekend heat wave, new First Warn for rain next week
Forecasts show an unseasonably warm weekend across the Kansas City area, with temperatures running well above typical fall levels before a turn in the pattern. A new First Warn has been issued for rain expected early next week, meaning the heat surge will be brief. Viewers are being told to enjoy the warm stretch while keeping an eye on the wetter outlook.
Why now: An unusual fall heat wave followed by an incoming rain system is a notable shift in the local weather pattern.
