Original: felix lebrun

French table tennis star Félix Lebrun can become world number one this weekend at the Grand Smash in China, a milestone no Frenchman has reached before. Former top player Jean-Philippe Gatien expressed amazement at the 18-year-old's precocity, saying such an early rise would be unprecedented for a French player.

Why now: Lebrun has a chance this weekend to become the first French world number one in table tennis.
