Golfer Suzu Yoshida picked for Japan Series first pitch

Original: 吉田鈴

Japanese women's golfer Suzu Yoshida, a two-time winner this season, has been chosen to throw the ceremonial first pitch before Game 2 of the Japan Series between the Yokohama DeNA BayStars and the SoftBank Hawks. On the course, she recovered from withdrawing with illness and a missed cut to shoot a 67, climbing into title contention at a domestic women's tournament in her home region, crediting three eagles in three rounds.

Why now: She is in the spotlight for both her strong recent golf form and her high-profile Japan Series first-pitch selection.
