Original: Trump Administration Proposes $70,000 Fee on International Students Seeking Post-Graduate Employment
The Trump administration has proposed a $70,000 fee on international students seeking employment in the United States after graduation, a move reported by the American Immigration Council. The proposal would place a steep financial barrier on foreign graduates hoping to stay and work in the country, drawing criticism from immigration advocates who argue it would deter global talent from studying and working in the US.
Why now: The proposed fee represents a major new cost for international graduates seeking US work authorization, fueling debate over immigration policy.
