Pope says art is a way to share the Gospel
Original: Pope: Art is not ‘mere aestheticism’ but a way to share the Gospel
The Pope has said that art is not 'mere aestheticism' but a means of communicating the Gospel. Speaking as reported by Vatican News, he framed artistic creation as a vehicle for spreading the faith rather than an end in itself, underscoring the Church's view of art as a tool of evangelisation and spiritual expression.
Why now: The Pope's remarks on art and evangelisation are new comments from a major religious figure.
