Atheist challenge dares theists to disprove claimed divine message
Original: Theists: God appeared to me and said we should all stop worshipping, discard # religions , and simply be kind to others.
An argument circulating online challenges religious believers with a hypothetical: if someone claimed God appeared and instructed humanity to abandon worship and organised religion in favour of simple kindness, believers would be unable to prove it false. The post argues this exposes a double standard, since faith claims about God's wishes are similarly unfalsifiable. It is being shared in atheist and secular discussions as a debate point about evidence, faith and religion.
Why now: It is a provocative rhetorical challenge to religious belief that invites debate about faith and evidence.
Evidence
- Theists: God appeared to me and said we should all stop worshipping, discard # religions , and simply be kind to others. Prove that this didn't happen. ______________________ # atheism # faith # god · tomcapuder@universeodon.com · 1
