A first-time Hacktoberfest participant has created a small web tool for the event's week-one theme, which was "touch grass". The project, called Touch Grass Check, uses AI to check whether users have actually gone outside. It is being shared as an open-source contribution under the #hf26challenge tag, drawing attention from the coding community.
Why now: Hacktoberfest is running its themed weekly challenges, prompting developers to share playful open-source projects.
