A UK technology writer argues that Openreach's Special Faults Investigations (SFI) process, used by ISPs to escalate stubborn broadband line faults, should no longer exist. The criticism targets how BT's system handles and charges for hard-to-diagnose internet faults, a long-standing irritant for UK broadband providers and engineers dealing with persistent connection problems.
Why now: A tech blogger's criticism of BT's broadband fault-escalation process has struck a chord among UK internet users and ISPs frustrated with the system.
