Tropical Storm Rachel set to soak Las Vegas this weekend
Original: ‘Uncharacteristically wet’: Rachel to soak Las Vegas Valley this weekend
Forecasters expect the Las Vegas Valley to get unusually heavy rain this weekend as moisture from Rachel moves into southern Nevada. Local media are calling the setup uncharacteristically wet for the desert city, where rainfall of this kind is rare. Residents are being warned about possible flooding on roads and low-lying areas as the storm's remnants arrive.
Why now: An unusual and potentially hazardous stretch of wet weather is approaching a desert city unaccustomed to heavy rain.
