A parkrun run director has completed their 80th stint in the role, overseeing an event that drew 537 participants before heading out for an easy 5k of their own once the crowd had dispersed and finish tokens were sorted for the following week. They also noted with relief that no one at their event appeared to be using club membership to signal bigoted views, calling that a good outcome.

Why now: parkrun volunteers and participants regularly share event milestones and turnout figures within the running community

Evidence

• On run director duties (for the 80th time) at # parkrun today so did an easy 5k after the hordes had left (537 participants this morning) and the tokens had been sorted ready for next week. Still no bigots wishing to out themselves with their club membership. Good. # running #… · fak@cupoftea.social · 17
