India anti-terror agency to probe mid-air cockpit attack on flydubai pilot
Original: India's anti-terror agency to probe mid-air cockpit attack on Captain Smit Machchhar aboard flydubai fligh
India's National Investigation Agency is taking over the case of Captain Smit Machchhar, a pilot who was attacked by a passenger aboard a flydubai flight in a mid-air incident near the cockpit. Handing the case to the anti-terror agency signals authorities are treating the assault as a potential security matter rather than a routine in-flight disturbance, and the move is drawing attention to aviation safety and passenger screening.
Why now: The involvement of India's anti-terror agency in an in-flight attack raises questions about aviation security and the motive behind the assault.
