Russian strikes kill over a dozen in Ukraine after Trump-Putin diesel deal
Original: Over a dozen killed in Russian strikes on Ukraine after Trump-Putin diesel deal
Russian strikes across Ukraine have killed more than a dozen people, coming shortly after talks between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin reportedly touched on a diesel-related arrangement. The attacks underline the continued intensity of Russia's air campaign against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure despite diplomatic contact between the two leaders, and Ukrainian officials are condemning the strikes as civilians bear the brunt.
Why now: The deadly strikes coincided with high-profile Trump-Putin diplomacy, making the contrast between talks and continued attacks newsworthy.
