Child among eight killed by Israel on Gaza ceasefire anniversary
Original: Child among eight killed by Israel on Gaza ‘ceasefire’ anniversary
Israeli strikes killed eight people in Gaza, including a child, on the anniversary of the ceasefire that was meant to halt the war between Israel and Hamas. The deaths come despite the truce agreement, with Palestinians continuing to report casualties and ongoing Israeli military operations in the territory a year after the deal took effect.
Why now: The killings occurred on the symbolic anniversary of the ceasefire, drawing attention to its failure to end bloodshed.
