Meta is allegedly removing Instagram accounts belonging to LGBTQ business owners, according to a Mashable report. One affected owner described the removals as a "puritanical culling," and critics are framing the takedowns as censorship that disproportionately targets queer and plus-size businesses.

Why now: Business owners and LGBTQ advocates are reacting to reports of accounts being removed under Meta's content moderation rules.
