Nvidia reportedly discontinuing RTX 5090 as GB202 chip reserved for pro cards

Original: Nvidia reportedly discontinuing RTX 5090, GB202 to be reserved for RTX PRO serie

Reports say Nvidia may discontinue its GeForce RTX 5090 consumer flagship, with the high-end GB202 GPU reserved exclusively for the RTX PRO professional series. If confirmed, gamers would lose access to Nvidia's most powerful GeForce card, pushing buyers toward the RTX 5080 or professional offerings. Sources suggest remaining retail stock could be the last available, though Nvidia has not commented on the reported move.

Why now: The potential loss of Nvidia's top consumer gaming GPU affects enthusiasts and could signal a pricing and product strategy shift
