Shai Gilgeous-Alexander takes blame for Thunder's playoff loss to Spurs

Original: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander takes blame for OKC's 2026 NBA playoff loss to Spurs

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander says he takes responsibility for the team's 2026 NBA playoff defeat to the San Antonio Spurs. The reigning MVP-level guard pointed to his own performance rather than teammates or coaching as the reason OKC fell short in the series, drawing attention from fans and analysts weighing his leadership and the Thunder's title chances.

Why now: The Thunder were widely expected to contend for a title, so their star publicly accepting blame for a playoff exit to the Spurs is striking.
