Pierre Gasly puzzled by Alpine's lack of straight-line speed
Original: Pierre Gasly : « je comprends pas on est en 6e à fond dans les lignes droites et on est plus lents que les autres » QUEU
Alpine driver Pierre Gasly voiced his confusion after a race weekend, saying that even running in sixth gear at full throttle on the straights the car was slower than its rivals. Fans seized on the comment, with some noting it undercuts past explanations that blamed the car's pace on the Renault engine rather than aerodynamics or chassis.
Why now: Gasly's candid radio remark reignited debate over whether Alpine's struggles come from the engine or elsewhere in the car.
