Jonathan Cook accuses BBC of trapping leftwing politicians
Original: “How the BBC sets a trap to make sure leftwing politicians never get a fair hearing” by Jonathan Cook on Substack @ uk_p
Journalist Jonathan Cook has published a piece arguing that the BBC systematically undermines leftwing politicians, framing interviews in ways that deny them a fair hearing and explaining why so few genuinely left figures gain visibility in British media. The article is circulating among UK politics and media-criticism audiences, with readers tagging BBC News, Radio 4 and 5 Live, and major newspapers, debating whether the broadcaster's editorial practices structurally favour establishment voices over the left.
Why now: Ongoing arguments about BBC impartiality and the marginalisation of leftwing voices in UK politics and media are keeping the claim in circulation.
