BBC faces Trump deposition order and impartiality claims

Original: bbc

The BBC is under pressure on several fronts. Donald Trump has been ordered to sit for a deposition in his defamation case against the broadcaster, while the corporation also faces accusations of an impartiality breach over its use of Whitehall fact-checkers. Separately, Canada's Weston family has agreed to buy high-street chemist Boots for $8.9 billion, drawing further attention to the UK news agenda.

Why now: Multiple major BBC-related stories, including the Trump defamation case, broke at the same time.
