Antimatter found leaking from the Milky Way into intergalactic space
Original: Antimatter is leaking out of our Galaxy into intergalactic space, say astronomers
Astronomers report that antimatter particles are escaping the Milky Way and drifting into intergalactic space. The finding, reported by BBC Sky at Night Magazine, suggests energetic processes near the Galactic Centre may be pushing antimatter beyond the Galaxy's boundaries, with implications for understanding cosmic rays and the balance of matter and antimatter in the universe.
Why now: A new astronomical finding challenges assumptions about how matter and antimatter behave in the Galaxy
