Trump calls for new Ukrainian president, blames Zelenskyy for diesel prices
Original: Trump says Ukraine should get a new president as he blames Zelenskyy for US diesel prices
Donald Trump, speaking at the White House on Saturday, said Ukraine needs a new president, arguing Volodymyr Zelenskyy has failed to end the war with Russia. Trump claimed Zelenskyy has lost 30% of Ukraine's territory and that millions have died, and also blamed him for high US diesel prices. The remarks have drawn wide attention given ongoing debates over US support for Kyiv.
Why now: Trump's sharp public criticism of a sitting foreign leader during wartime is controversial and touches on heated US policy debates over Ukraine.
