Runner volunteers at parkrun before Gwent League cross country

Original: Volunteering today at # parkrun as @ ceri was saving his legs for competing in the Gwent League Cross Country at Pembrey

A Welsh runner is drawing attention after combining a parkrun morning with an afternoon race. While one runner saved his legs to compete in the Gwent League Cross Country at Pembrey Country Park, a companion volunteered at the local parkrun instead, taking a walk over the dunes to the beach and describing the scenery as stunning. The post reflects the close-knit culture of UK running clubs, where clubmates routinely volunteer at events while others race the same weekend.

Why now: It highlights the friendly, community-spirited side of Welsh running culture across a busy weekend of races.
