Around 30,000 people took to the streets in Belgium to protest against austerity measures, with demonstrations reported in Brussels and other cities including Liège. The protest drew strong backing from trade unions, notably the FGTB/ABVV and ACV/CSC, which have been organizing strikes against spending cuts and neoliberal policies. Demonstrators are voicing anger over what they see as exploitation and corruption driving the government's budget plans.
