Open-Source Rust Apps Recreate Adobe's Creative Suite for Free
Developers are highlighting a suite of free, open-source applications written in Rust that mirror the core tools of Adobe's Creative Suite, including image editing, illustration and design software. The projects are drawing attention as alternatives to Adobe's subscription model, which many users criticize as costly. Commenters are debating whether Rust-based tools can match the polish and ecosystem of established commercial creative software.
Why now: Growing frustration with Adobe's subscription pricing is driving interest in free open-source alternatives.
