Trump says Ukraine should replace Zelenskyy as president
Original: Trump calls for Ukraine to replace Zelenskyy after clash over Russia diesel deal: 'Get a new president'
Donald Trump has called for Ukraine to replace President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, telling Ukrainians to 'get a new president'. The demand follows a reported clash over a deal involving Russian diesel, deepening Trump's public criticism of Ukraine's wartime leadership. The remarks have drawn attention as debate continues over US support for Kyiv and Trump's stance on Russia and the war.
Why now: Trump's direct call to oust the leader of a US-aligned country at war is a major and controversial foreign policy statement.
