Aomori City imposes traffic controls for National Sports Festival

Original: 青森市 交通規制

Traffic restrictions are in place in Aomori City as Japan's National Sports Festival (Kokutai) gets underway in Aomori Prefecture. The event has drawn competitors from across the country, including a thank-you march by athletes from quake-hit Kumamoto, and cyclist Masaki of Kyushu Gakuin High School taking third in the junior keirin. Road closures are causing disruption for local drivers.

Why now: The National Sports Festival being held in Aomori has prompted traffic regulations affecting residents and commuters.
