Trump jokes about renaming an ocean after himself
Original: ‘Trump Ocean’ on the map? US president jokes about renaming Atlantic or Pacific
US President Donald Trump joked about renaming either the Atlantic or the Pacific Ocean after himself, floating the idea of a 'Trump Ocean'. The remark comes after his earlier push to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the 'Gulf of America', prompting mockery and debate over whether the comments were serious or satire.
Why now: Trump's habit of renaming geographic features, including the Gulf of America move, makes people unsure whether this is a real proposal or a joke.
