Jeremy Salt Argues World Inaction Enables Israel's Gaza War
Original: “‘By the Way, the World is Not Stopping Us’: The Secret of Israel’s ‘Success’” by Jeremy Salt in The Palestine Chronicle
Academic Jeremy Salt writes in The Palestine Chronicle that Israel's military campaign in Gaza continues because the international community has failed to intervene, quoting the sentiment that "the world is not stopping us." He argues that had a multinational military force been deployed to Gaza, the course of the war would have been different, and criticises Western governments for enabling Israeli policy through inaction. The piece is being widely shared in pro-Palestinian online circles.
Why now: Ongoing anger over the Gaza war and perceived international failure to stop it keeps critical commentary circulating widely.
