Original: Show HN: WallHop – 12ft.io is gone, so I built a replacement
A developer has launched WallHop, a new site positioned as a replacement for 12ft.io, the tool that let readers view paywalled news articles, which has stopped working. The project was shared on Hacker News, where it drew strong engagement, with readers debating its usefulness and the legal and ethical questions around bypassing news paywalls as publishers tighten access controls.
Why now: 12ft.io's shutdown left readers looking for an alternative, so a new replacement tool is drawing attention and debate.
