Western intelligence agencies have warned CEOs and senior employees at defense companies that they are being targeted by Kremlin operatives, including possible assassination attempts. The warnings come amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, with officials reportedly concerned that Russian services are trying to intimidate or harm those supplying weapons and support to Kyiv. The alert highlights growing concern over covert Russian activity against the defense industry in Western countries.
Why now: Reports of assassination threats against Western defense executives would naturally draw wide attention given heightened tensions over the Ukraine war.
