Developer Builds Screen-Free Audio Running Pacer Using Gemma 2

A developer has built a zero-screen running club pacer that delivers guidance through 3D audio, powered by Google's Gemma 2 AI model. The project argues that checking Strava mid-run disrupts natural stride and focus, so pace coaching is delivered entirely by voice instead. Early reactions online have been enthusiastic, with commenters calling it one of the best real-world uses of small AI models and agents.
Why now: Runners and developers are drawn to a practical, screen-free alternative to fitness apps that showcases local AI models in a novel use case.
