Original: singapore is entirely an imported population lol. it's 70% chinese 10% indian, making 80% of its population implanted

A claim circulating online states that Singapore is 'entirely an imported population', pointing to its demographic makeup of roughly 70% ethnic Chinese and 10% Indian residents as evidence that most of its people descend from immigrants. The comment has drawn attention to ongoing debates about the city-state's identity, colonial-era migration history, and modern immigration policy.

Why now: Debates over immigration, national identity and Singapore's demographic makeup are recurring flashpoints in the region
