Kobe Bryant's former teammate says he wants to run for New York mayor
Original: ‘I want to’ – Kobe Bryant’s ex-teammate suddenly wants Zohran Mamdani’s job
A former Lakers teammate of Kobe Bryant has publicly said 'I want to' when discussing Zohran Mamdani's job as New York City mayor, signalling an unexpected interest in entering politics. The statement came out of nowhere, catching attention because the ex-player has no prior political background, and it ties his name to the high-profile mayoralty that Mamdani now holds.
Why now: A well-known ex-NBA player unexpectedly expressing interest in New York City's mayoral race is a striking sports-meets-politics story.
